Two quite different sets of boats: short crossings inside Cork Harbour, and the island services that leave from small piers along the West Cork coast.
Inside Cork Harbour the crossings are short and practical. A car ferry spares drivers the road round through the city, and the boat out to Spike Island leaves from the Cobh waterfront, sold together with the admission ticket for the fort.
Further west the piers are often a slipway at the end of a minor road, and the boats serve islands where people live all year. Their timetables tend to change between winter and summer and between weekdays and weekends, so each page states the period a table covers and the date it was read from the operator.
| Baltimore – Cape Clear ferry: the winter boat out to Oileán Chléire | Island ferry | About 45 minutes |
| Cobh – Spike Island ferry: a crossing sold only with the fort ticket | Harbour ferry | 10–15 minutes each way |
| Cunnamore – Heir Island ferry: a four-minute crossing that runs all winter | Island ferry | 4 minutes |
| Glenbrook – Carrigaloe ferry: five minutes across Cork Harbour instead of the road round | Car ferry | about 5 minutes |
